Probably no other item of horse equipment has seen more development and diversity than the saddle. Over the thousands of years since riders sought to stabilise their seat and improve control of their mounts by attaching the first saddles to them, saddles have developed in countless directions. These days, even traditional leather has a rival in the form of some exciting synthetic materials. One thing hasn’t changed though – whatever the purpose –jumping, stock driving, eventing, polo, dressage or endurance riding – making a fine saddle is an exacting craft, requiring a rare combination of skill, knowledge and experience.
At Europa Saddlery, we stock saddles to meet every need and budget, from the world’s master saddlers – and at warehouse prices! Our saddles offer comfort, support, and the degree of control that only comes from many years of experience.
Just some of the great names we stock:
From Syd Hill, we carry saddles made by one of Australia’s oldest saddlers – a family concern that can trace its origins back 150 years. Nowadays using a Stylecast tree made from high expansion polyurethane, Syd Hill saddles evolved to meet the necessities of life and work in an unforgiving environment, and the company makes half-breed, stock and western saddles. They now come in both leather and synthetic materials, but all fittings are still made of solid brass.
We also carry Ascot Equestrian's fine range of saddles. The range includes saddles for general purpose, jumping saddles, polo, dressage and pony jumping saddles.
The German company G. Passier & Sohn has been making saddles for a century and a half. They are a byword for excellence in the world of dressage. Browse our range of saddles online or talk to us for expert advice on the right saddle for you.
